The future of Blackpool and England under-21 winger Tom Ince still remains unclear as we head into the final few hours of the transfer window.

Ince looked like he was going to join Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal, with dialogue open at the start of today.

This looked even more likely when Palace confirmed the signing of Jason Puncheon from Southampton this afternoon, essentially freeing up one of the loan spaces in their squad.

Stoke City now look in pole position to sign the player, with the only stumbling block being that they want the player on a permanent basis straight away.

It is believed that Ince is wanting to keep his options open at the end of the season, with a possible move to French giants Monaco still in the pipeline.

If Ince can't make his mind up on a move or his current club Blackpool pull out then he will have to play out the rest of his contract with the Seasiders, which runs out in the summer.

It will, of course, be without his father managing the team after he was sacked as Blackpool boss last week.
