Which quarterback will the Jacksonville Jaguars draft?

Jacksonville Jaguars owner, Shad Khan has revealed that his team are definitely going to draft a quarterback at the upcoming draft.

Speaking to the Florida Times-Union, Shad said:

“Everybody knows we’re going to draft a quarterback, maybe two,”

The Jaguars used both Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert last season and most experts had thought that they would use the third pick in the draft to pick a good signal-caller.

Jacksonville had picked Gabbert with a first round pick in 2011 but he has not been able to turn the franchise's fortunes around and spent much of last year on injured-reserve.

Teddy Bridgewater from Louisville, UCF's Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel out of Texas A&M are thought to be among the candidates to be high picks in the May draft.

However, the Houston Texans or St Louis Rams could also select a quarterback with the first or second pick in the draft, which might leave the Jaguars in trouble.

It is interesting that Khan mentioned the possibility of drafting a second quarterback as that would infer that the Jaguars intend not to continue with either Gabbert or Henne.

It would also appear that the Jaguars believe that the draft class is deep enough that a quarterback picked in a later round would be NFL ready.

All eyes will now be on the NFL combine next month as the Jaguars and their rivals scout the upcoming rookies.
