Fulham and Crystal Palace proved to be the biggest winners on deadline day, as each of the Premier League relegation candidates were able to recruit five new players to reinforce their survival prospects.
It was, however, a day relatively low on drama as few moves of note were made at the top end of the table, with Arsenal and Chelsea the only sides in the coveted Champions League positions to make a signing.
The Gunners were, however, criticised having only managed to clinch the loan signing of Kim Kallstrom - failing yet again to bolster their strikeforce - while Chelsea acquired Kurt Zouma, only before allowing him to stay with Saint Etienne.
A relative snoozefest then for the top-flight's more prominent clubs, but here's a look at what the papers are saying about all those moves that did not happen...
