January transfer window: winners and losers (1)

The January transfer window is now over and that means one thing; whether your club decided to stick or twist, they're stuck with what they've got until the very end of the season.

Most clubs are reluctant to splash the cash in the winter window; some cite a lack of value while players are largely reluctant to change clubs mid-way through a campaign and risk it all going horribly wrong, especially in a World Cup year.

With all that in mind it's any wonder there's any money spent in January - but don't listen to the naysayers; there is value to be found if you look in the right places, and a player taking a bit of a risk can end up making the difference between winning the title and just missing out.

We're here to see which clubs played the game well and who was either too reluctant for their own good, or indeed too trigger-happy.

There's a balance to be found when doing business in January - so let's take a look and see who did it well, and who got it all wrong.
