Ross Barkley is set to sign a new long-term deal with Everton, reports the Metro

The England international has been in fine form for the Toffees in this campaign and now looks set to follow Leighton Baines' path and sign a new deal with the Merseyside outfit

The youngster has attracted interest from a number of clubs in recent time with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly interested in his services.

Manchester United boss David Moyes previously worked with Barkley at the Goodison Park outfit so will be well aware of the quality he possesses. Meanwhile Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho also appears to be interested in the 20-year-old as the Blues look to assemble one of the finest young squads in world football.

However both Manchester United and Chelsea may have to miss out on Barkley with it looking increasingly likely that he will commit his long term future with Everton.

This will be a major boost for Everton who are looking to continue their progress under Roberto Martinez, however the news will come as a blow to both Manchester United and Chelsea.
