Liverpool will reignite their interest in Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk star Yevhen Konoplyanka in the summer, reports the Daily Star.
The Merseyside outfit failed in their attempts to bring the midfielder to the club in the January transfer window after the move fell through on deadline day.
However Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has now hinted that the club could yet bring the Ukrainian international to the Premier League at the end of the season.
When the Liverpool boss was asked as to whether he would make a move for Konoplyanka in the next window, he told reporters: "If we feel he can improve us, we are a professional club.
"There will be a greater market to look at then but it wouldn't stop us.
"It is of no consequence now - I don't focus on that. There is no point in me looking back.
"The club did everything possible to get the player in.
"We had our chief scout and managing director and doctor out there to conclude the deal.
"From our point of view, categorically [managing director] Ian Ayre did a brilliant job trying to negotiate.
Liverpool fans will now be hoping the club can bring the £15 million rated ace to the club in the summer.
The Reds' immediate attention will be on their quest to secure Champions League football in this campaign. Liverpool were held 1-1 by West Brom yesterday afternoon but currently sit two points ahead of their Merseyside rivals Everton in fourth place.
Liverpool will look ahead to their crunch clash with Premier League leaders Arsenal this weekend as the two teams go head-to-head at Anfield.
