Five Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have been boosted by the news that contract talks between Toni Kroos and his current employers Bayern Munich have broken down.
The Daily Mail report that the 24-year-old midfielder wants to increase his wages from £60,000 a week to £150,000.
However, European champions Bayern have informed the Germany international that no agreement will be reached until he lowers his demands.
Pep Guardiola relegated Kroos to the bench during Bayern Munich's emphatic 5-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, while last Wednesday the player threw his gloves to the ground in disgust after being substituted for Mario Mandzukic on the hour mark.
This increased speculation that Kroos would make a deadline-day switch to the Premier League, with Manchester United reported to have been in pole position, but for the time being he remains a Bayern Munich player.
However, this could change in the summer, with United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all keen on the £25m-rated Bundesliga star.
