Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg are preparing a bid for Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen, according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old Arsenal captain has found games hard to come by this season due to the fine form of both Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.
Vermaelen was linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window - but decided to stay at the Premier League leaders in order to fight for a place in Arsenal's starting line-up.
However the Belgian international is said to be attracting interest from Luciano Spalletti's Zenit.
Vermaelen would be allowed to join Zenit as the Russian transfer window does not close until February 27.
The experienced centre-back may decide to join Zenit before the end of the month as he will be desperate to get some regular first-team football under his belt before this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
Vermaelen would join fellow Belgians Axel Witsel and Nicolas Lombaerts if he was to seal a move to the Petrovsky Stadium.
