Regardless of your allegiances within football, everybody loves a blockbuster transfer.

2013 was the year of Gareth Bale and his monumental switch from Tottenham to the galaxy of stars at Real Madrid, but can we expect the same from 2014?

In fairness there have been plenty of outlandish transfer rumours circulating of late, and any one of them could easily become the headline grabbing story of this calendar year.

With the January transfer window done and dusted all eyes now turn to the summer, wherein the majority of massive deals usually take place.

So will Juan Mata’s £37.1million move to Old Trafford take the crown, or will football witness another deal which shakes it to its very foundations?
