As National Football League champions the Seattle Seahawks will receive some perks in the near future.
This may be in the form of improved contracts, bigger endorsement packages, or just general praise which has not been in short supply since their dominant performance against the Denver Broncos in Sunday Super Bowl.
But not much can compare to getting to visit the White House courtesy of a personal invitation from the President of the United States.
Pete Carroll revealed on Twitter tonight that President Obama had been in touch:
"We were so honored today with a call from President Obama and an invitation to visit the White House later this offseason!," the head coach wrote.
Of course winning sports teams visiting the White House is not a new thing. In fact only last month the Miami Heat were in residence accepting plaudits for their recent NBA title.
And the President seems to be extending his gratitude all the way to Seattle now as he joins the ranks of experts and fans alike who have been quick to congratulate the franchise on a great 2013-14 season.
The date is yet to be confirmed but it is sure to be one that Seahawks players and staff are looking forward to.
