LA Lakers veteran Pau Gasol's proposed move to Phoenix is off the table for now, with the Suns reportedly pulling out of protracted talks over what they feel is an inflated valuation of the power forward.
Gasol has been strongly mentioned in connection with the Suns since the trade window opened, with the Lakers looking to offload the 33-year-old's hefty $19.3m final-year contract to reinvest for next season.
The Suns were receptive to a potential deal but negotiations have collapsed according to the LA Times, refusing to put at risk four top draft picks for next season if trade moves go their way before the Feb 20th deadline.
Phoenix are not the only party who have expressed reservations over a deal which now looks dead in the water, with the Lakers unwilling to take back the contract of center Emeka Okafor, who has spent the entire campaign on the sidelines with a neck injury.
Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni is unable to select Gasol at the moment due to a groin strain, which looks set to keep the Spanish star on the sidelines for at least another fortnight.
