DeShaun Hand today admitted that he was relieved to finally become an Alabama player for the 2014 NCAA season after he committed to become a Crimson Tide player on National Signing Day.
The defensive end was rated as the best in his position coming out of high school this year, and Alabama coach Nick Saban certainly put out all the stops to get the powerful defender on board.
Hand is a very unique player in that his decision to sign with the Tide was not all football related.
He has always been very aware of his future and what he wants to do in life. For him, becoming a civil engineer is crucial to his life goals, and Alabama made sure they got the education side of the school involved quickly.
It seems to have paid off for the Tide, and Hand is over the moon to be joining Saban and his staff.
“It feels amazing [being done with recruiting],” Hand said. “It feels great. I’m so happy that it’s over. Now it’s time to just focus on school, training, work and being a kid. That’s it.”
