Kansas freshman, Joel Embiid has revealed that he is considering returning for his sophomore year and will not enter the NBA draft this year.

Embiid is considered by most analysts to be a top-five pick but the Cameroon native only took up the sport in 2011 and may not be ready to step up to the professional ranks.

Before a recent game he said: “I’ll make a decision after the season, but I’m definitely considering coming back to school.”

The seven foot center has averaged 10 points and seven rebounds for the Jayhawks this season as Kansas have risen to eighth in the national rankings.

Embiid's teammate Andrew Wiggins and Duke's Jabari Parker are also considered to be candidates for high picks in this years draft but Embiid is by far the best big-man who could be available.

Due to the level of talent available in the draft, many NBA teams have looked to obtain a high draft pick by tanking on their season. The potential loss of Embiid from that pool of player will come as a big disappointment to some of those professional teams looking to rebuild.
