The former-Portsmouth midfielder had been linked with a move to Anfield over the January transfer window.
The interest never led to anything over the winter, and Mvuemba has since confirmed that he never entertained the prospect of leaving Lyon.
"I would be lying to say that I am happy to stay on the bench," Mvuemba told L'Equipe.
"But these are the choices of the coach."
As for the reported interest from the likes of Liverpool? "Only rumours," Mvuemba continued.
"Only rumours were talked about Liverpool and other French clubs. I did not ask to leave the club."
He has only made four Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon this term, a record that brought about the speculation linking him with a departure.
But he's under contract with the French club until 2016, so Lyon are under no pressure to sell.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was thought to be tracking several midfielders over the January window after the injury suffered by Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva.
