Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has unleashed a bizarre tirade against the RFL for their new TV deal with Sky Sports, and he also revealed his excitement at the prospect of the new season.
Wigan and Huddersfield kick-off the new Super League season on Friday, but Salford start off their campaign the following week against Wakefield.
Just like Ian Lenagan before him, he took aim at the new deal with Sky that will see the sport paid around £200 million over five years from 2017, with Koukash explaining that the RFL should have played ball with other TV companies.
“I lead a stressful business life so I sometimes switch off and think who’s going to be lining up for us on February 16 [in the opening game against Wakefield].
"I’m going to get more excited that day than when I had sex for the first time.”
Regarding the TV deal, he added: “You don’t marry the first girl you meet,” said Koukash. “You don’t commit until you’re sure there’s no one better."
