Olympiacos have beaten Liverpool to the signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez, reports talkSPORT.
The 27-year-old stopper has been on loan with the Greek club this season, and has now put pen to paper on a permanent transfer to the Karaiskakis Stadium in the summer.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had been credited with an interest in bringing Jimenez to Anfield, to act as cover for current first-choice keeper Simon Mignolet.
However, Liverpool will now have to turn their attention to alternative targets when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season, after the Spain U21 international opted for a move to Olympiacos.
Atletico Madrid only signed Jimenez from Real Zaragoza last summer, after Diego Simeone identified him as a possible replacement for Thibaut Courtois at the Vicente Calderon, but he'll also need to find another successor for the Belgian when he returns to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell.
