It was billed as potentially the closest Superbowl in years, the first time for a long while that the NFL's two top seeds were to go head-to-head in the biggest showpiece of them all - the Superbowl.
As it turned out, of course, the defensive prowess of Kam Chancellor, Malcolm Smith and co. led the Seattle Seahawks to a 43-8 rout of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
To celebrate such a momentous achievement - the first in Seahawks franchise history - the team embarked on the traditional winners parade around downtown Seattle yesterday, with police estimating that a staggering 700,000 fans were in attendance to see their heroes show off the widely-coveted Vince Lombardi trophy.
Perhaps the most amusing moments of the day involved Marshawn Lynch.
The former California Golden Bear, who also goes by the nickname 'Beast Mode', is well-known for his fondness of skittles sweets and was seen throwing them out to fans as the star attraction on the parade route.
Watch the amusing video of Lynch throwing out skittles to his adoring public during the Seahawks' parade above - with thanks to Fox Sports for bringing it to our attention.
