Top 7: Stars who could shine in another sport (1)

Earlier this season, basketball superstar LeBron James generated a lot of interest by declaring his wish to play in at least one NFL game before his star-studded career draws to a close.

It says something about the Miami Heat forward and four-time NBA MVP's physical and indeed mental prowess that there weren't too many that doubted his ability to turn his hand to another sport.

While it would perhaps be a touch naive to suggest that he would ever be able to enjoy the same dominant success that he has had on the court, James' skill-set is such that you would fully expect him, with a lot of practice, not to look too out of place in the unforgiving world of the NFL.

Pondering James' declaration concerning his American football desire got us thinking here at GMS - which other sport stars whose talents are such that they could try their luck - and potentially enjoy a degree of success - in another sport?

Here are seven examples* - please click 'begin slideshow' to get underway and don't forget to leave your thoughts on our selections in the comment box provided below.

What do you think - could these stars be successful in other sports?

Perhaps you disagree with out choices or feel we've made any glaring omissions? Just say!

*Please note, this is only a bit of fun and intended as humour! We didn't have too long to think about this particularly interesting subject, so we would genuinely be interested to hear your suggestions - funny or otherwise! So don't hesitate to comment..
