Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski did his bit to help Londoners condemned to using the bus due to industrial action on the tube network, with the German hopping into the driver's seat of an iconic Routemaster.
London has descended into relative travel chaos due to 48 hours of strikes imposed by tube workers in protest over the planned closures of ticket offices, which could result in the loss of 750 jobs.
This has meant an unprecedented amount of people have been required to get the bus rather than the tube, and some miserable commuters will have had their days brightened somewhat by the sight of Podolski on a bus.
The Gunners star posted a picture on Instagram with him perched in the driving position of bus, and he looked rather pleased with himself. Podolski accompanied the pic with the following message: "Welcome to my bus ;) #bus #london #fun #poldi #podolski #aha."
Podolski could be required to get back behind the wheel again next week with further strikes planned from February 12, placing the meeting between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in some doubt.
