5) The Disaster Draft

A procedure we hoped will never have to be enforced, but an interesting concept nonetheless.

This morbid ruling is a contingency plan put in place by the league in readiness for a worst-case scenario.

The unique draft would be activated if five or more players of a team “die or are dismembered” and would only allow five of any one franchise’s roster to be protected.

This means that the team victim of such horrible circumstances would effectively have their pick of every contributing team’s sixth man.

We presume it would be a far less glitzy affair than the traditional annual draft.

Probably not worth the sacrifice though.
