LeBron James keen to join forces with David Beckham

Reigning NBA MVP LeBron James has issued his clearest indication yet that he will getting involved with David Beckham’s project to create a soccer team in Miami.

The former England soccer captain, who was initially introduced to the MLS back in 2007 when he joined the LA Galaxy, revealed on Wednesday that he has exercised the $25million option in his contract which enables him to start up a new franchise in Miami.

And, with speculation growing concerning who will join Beckham in the massive project, Miami Heat star James has said that he is looking to get on board.

When asked if he was interested in becoming a part of the building process for the as of yet unnamed new franchise James said: “Hopefully I can be.

"Right now, there are some things that need to be worked out but I think it's exciting for the city of Miami.”

With many considering James to be perhaps the best NBA star on his generation, fans will be waiting with intrigue to see how he and Beckham, another household name in sport, can put their respective talents together, and what the effects will be for Miami.
