Manchester United announced on the stoke of midnight on Friday morning that captain Nemanja Vidic would depart at the end of the season following the expiration of his deal, bringing to an end almost a decade with the club.

Vidic has won 15 major honours during his illustrious spell in Manchester, including five Premier League titles and one Champions League triumph, many of which he has lifted as the club’s captain.

Speculation as to his next club is now set to intensify as sides across the globe battle to recruit the Serbian on a free transfer, and Vidic has already been offered some helpful advice as he decides on his next destination.

Manchester Airpot tweeted on Friday informing Vidic that they fly to a number of destinations, including some particularly prominent European cities were he to be of that persuasion.

The tweet reads: “Dear Mr #Vidic, we have over 200 destinations you could #FlyManchester out to including Barcelona, Paris, Munich, Milan if you're interested.”

A move onto the continent would appear to be the most likely outcome for Vidic after the 32-year-old used his official statement to allay fears of Manchester United fans he would join another English club.

"I’m not considering staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play for here is Manchester United and I was lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years,” he said.

“I’ve got a few options to move on and I will choose the right one for me and for my family.”
