Manchester United captain 'has lots of offers'

Manchester United captain ‘has lots of offers’ Manchester United will live to regret not doing more to retain the services of Nemanja Matic, according to Mateja Kezman, who claims his compatriot is fielding ‘lots of offers’ as his time with the club heads towards its end.

It was announced in the small hours of Friday morning that Vidic would leave at the end of the season following the expiration of his contract, concluding almost a decade of continued success at Old Trafford.

There has been much speculation as to the future of the Manchester United captain given that he is in the final year of his deal, and Kezman claims Vidic had been open to extending his stay.

Manchester United, however, left it too late to begin negotiations – something which upset the long-serving 32-year-old – and he will now depart for pastures new in the summer.

His next destination is not yet clear but, reveals Kezman, there is not shortage of potential suitors for the Serbian.

"I’m not worried about Vidic because he has lots of offers on the table but Manchester United should have made a better decision because they’ll find it difficult to find a player with that kind of character, which is very important, and with that kind of quality,” Kezman told talkSPORT.

"He’s been unlucky with injuries the last two years but maybe at summer time and next season he’ll be on top form but United haven’t decided to wait for him and it’s a pity."
