Jacksonville Jaguars general manager, David Caldwell has revealed that they will consider trading away the third overall pick in the draft.

“We would not discourage that at all,” Caldwell said on the team's website.. “I think it’s a possibility, but it’s so early in the process. There are going to be guys who are going to be weeded out.

The Jaguars finished last season with a 4-12 record and missed the playoffs for the sixth straight season.

Both Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert were given playing time at quarterback, but neither excelled fully and it was expected that Jacksonville would look to bring in a QB with their high first round pick.

However now it seems that Caldwell would listen to offers from teams and bring in a number of solid NFL starters instead of one inexperienced rookie.

Caldwell also said however, that the Jaguars have targets in mind: “There’s a consensus here,” Caldwell said, via the Jaguars’ official website. “We have a good idea who our top-five guys might be, but that’s going to differ from team to team.

Last week, owner Shad Khan said that the team would definitely draft a quarterback, although it now appears that could happen in a later round.
