Manchester United boss David Moyes has revealed that he already knows who he wants to replace the departing Nemanja Vidic; players from within his current squad.

According to the Evening Standard, Moyes is confident that he already has the players at his disposal to fill the void that will be left behind when his current captain leaves when his contract expires this summer.

And it’s good news for three young players, with Johnny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones all set to move up the pecking order.

Moyes said: “We’ve actually got three really good centre-halves. They’ll be the future of the club, the ones we look to,” said Moyes.

“We’ll look at what we need in the summer but we’ve got two England internationals and a Northern Ireland international.”

None of the aforementioned trio have been able to properly establish themselves as regular first-team stars in recent years, despite often being used as cover for Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

This had prompted many to believe that Moyes would prefer to bring in a centre-back, with the likes of Benfica’s Ezequiel Garay and Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala said to be on his radar.

However it now looks as though the Scot will follow in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson and place his faith in youth rather than financial muscle.
