Chelsea are now sitting comfortably in first position on 56 points and are now strong contenders for the title this season.

Firstly, we must look at the strengths of Chelsea which lie predominantly in their midfield.

With Oscar, Hazard, Willian, Schurrle , Matic, Ramires and recently the signing of Mohamed Salah, the talents of these stars are astonishing.

Oscar, and indeed Hazard, have both been stand out players for Chelsea this season - with a combined total of 22 goals so far and Hazard being Chelsea's top goalscorer.

They both provide important qualities - pace ,creativity the ability to score goals as well as create them, and importantly to back track and help defend - which is hugely significant with Jose Mourinho at the helm who installs this greatly in his players.

It is thanks to this creative midfield that Chelsea have done so well this season, and one might even argue that it was the best in the Premier League - a midfield that can certainly compete with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Chelsea also have strong options in attack .

Although some people might claim otherwise , the fact is that they still have a very strong and skillful set of strikers , who are incredibly valuable to the team.

Samuel Eto'o is Chelsea's most in form striker , having recently scored a hat-trick against Manchester United - something truly special in itself.

The veteran striker , along with the likes of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba can often prove to be a strong force to deal with.

With the safe hands of Cech and a reliable back four of Cahill,Terry, Ivanovic and Cole or Azpilacueta , the Chelsea defence is also certainly solid.

Having conceded only 20 goals in the league this season, Chelsea maintain their strong force in the defence as well.

However, one must consider other teams such as Manchester City, Arsenal and indeed even Liverpool who may yet snatch the title from Chelsea's hands.

Manchester City are lethal at the Ethiad Stadium , and have already scored 100 goals so far this season - truly astonishing.

They have a deadly strike force of Negredo and Aguero (and even Dzeko!) who will make Chelsea's life hard in their pursuits of the title.

Arsenal too have performed very well with new signing Mesut Ozil and have been consistently at the top so far this season.

Liverpool have a lethal strike force with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, which also make them fierce contenders for the title race, though some might say that they lack the depth in their squad compared to the others.

Having recently beaten Manchester City at the Ethiad, Chelsea are looking more and more powerful and dominant, and they simply go from strength to strength.

Under the fierce management of Jose Mourinho and with a set of world class players, the title is certainly an achievable goal for Chelsea this season.
