As Uefa's financial fair play regulations begin to take effect, Manchester City will be forced to curb their spending this summer.
Last term saw a host of stars make their way to the Etihad with Stevan Jovetic, Fernandinho and Alvaro Negredo some of the few that helped take their spending towards £100m.
But the squad is looking more or less complete for Manuel Pellegrini and just a few additions will make sense this summer. A central defender will be top of the list and the highly rated Eliaquim Mangala is looking a safe bet. They also look favourites to sign Hamburg starlet Jonathan Tah.
Although Joe Hart has struggled recently, a new goalkeeper shouldn't be high on Pellegrini's wish list.
Meanwhile a bit of fat is sure to be cut from the beef.
Ins: Eliaquim Mangala, Jonathan Tah.
Outs: Joleon Lescott, Gareth Barry, Jack Rodwell
