Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has given his clearest indication that he may not return to Anfield at the end of his season-long loan with Serie A side Napoli.
The 31 year-old was brought in by former boss Rafael Benitez but, after a strong start to the season, Napoli's title challenge has faltered, despite a relatively consistent campaign and a fantastic home record, and criticism has been recently aimed at the keeper for some poor defensive displays.
Rumours have persisted of a return to Barcelona, with Victor Valdes possibly leaving the Nou Camp, but Reina has said his future is still uncertain.
Speaking to Spanish paper Marca, he said: "I don't know where I'll be next year, but my plan is to enjoy this season and do a good job. Then I'll have to go to Liverpool and make a decision.
"They have to explain to me what their intentions are, but I'm not currently up to speed on all of the possible offers which might come in, because that's a job for my agent."
Reina also stated that, despite being unsure of what the future holds, he is currently focused on what Napoli can achieve this season before making a decision on his future.
"My future is here, in Italy, and we'll see what happens in June."
This future includes trying to help Napoli qualify for next season's Champions League, with Saturday's 3-1 win over Milan going a long way to securing a top three finish for the side from Naples.
Now, however, attention turns to their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg with second-placed Roma and Reina believes his side can make the final, despite trying to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg.
"We have to win at home and keep a clean sheet if possible. That is the minimum a team needs to do if it wants to be in with a chance of a trophy. We have to come back from 3-2 down, but with the way things were going (Napoli were losing 2-0 at half time), we would all have taken that in an instant," said the keeper.
Without Reina, Liverpool have been going well this season and are on course for a place in the Champions League next season.
Simon Mignolet has impressed after replacing the Spanish stopper at Anfield, and was again in fine form yesterday (Saturday) as the Reds beat Arsenal 5-1.
Brendan Rodgers will still have a decision to make at the end of the season though, with Reina one of the best keepers in recent times at Liverpool.
