Lionel Messi & Cesc Fabregas score stunners in Barcelona win

Published Add your comment

Barcelona returned to the summit of La Liga on Sunday evening with a hard-fought win over Sevilla, though the match was lit up by two lovely goals from Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas.

Conditions were not ideal as torrential rain even caused puddles to form on the surface of the pitch, while Barcelona struggled to contain a confident home side in the early stages and fell behind thanks to a deflected Alberto Morena strike.

Messi's free-kick was headed in by a clearly offside Alexis Sanchez to equalise and the goal he scored to put the Catalan club ahead was a delightful flick up and half-volley into the corner - watch it above.

Another fine finish by Messi made it 3-1 before Fabregas put a gloss on the scoreline that perhaps wasn't warranted, but his finish was a superb, cheeky lob over goalkeeper Beto - watch the former Arsenal man's strike below.
