Cleveland Cavaliers forward Luol Deng could prove to be an epic trade mistake for his new team, with reporting that the ex-Chicago Bulls star has already decided to become a free agent this summer after a dreadful first month in Ohio.

Deng joined the Cavaliers on January 7 in a switch which saw Cleveland give up Andrew Bynum and a draft pick, looking for an experienced figure to keep a young team in transition moving forward.

Since sealing the switch Cleveland have experienced an alarming skid, winning just two of their last 10 games in a slide away from play-off contention.

That slip has led to widespread reports of discontent between Cavs coach Mike Brown and playing staff, enough for to state that Cleveland have "little-to-no-chance" of keeping the Great Britain international beyond this season.

The 28-year-old turned down a $30m deal to stay with the Bulls and will be nervously waiting to see if Cleveland's form picks up, probably with his market value and form at the forefront of his worries.

Deng did feature in a Cleveland victory on Sunday night, contributing nine points in a 91-83 success against the Memphis Grizzlies.
