Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their alleged pursuit of Porto forward Juan Iturbe, after the on-loan Hellas Verona star revealed he would like to play for Juventus, reports talkSPORT.
The Argentina U20 international has been frequently linked with a move to Merseyside, but has also attracted interest from a host of top European clubs, following a series of scintillating performances at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen to bring Iturbe to Anfield, as he looks to further strengthen his squad when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Liverpool have surprised many with their impressive form in 2013/14, and could have a genuine chance of challenging for the Premier League title next season with the right signings.
However, it looks as though they are unlikely to secure the signature of Iturbe, after the 20-year-old told Tuttosport that he'd love to join the Serie 'A' champions given the opportunity.
"I do not know anything about my future," he said. "Certainly Juventus are a real team, the strongest in Italy, and who would not [want to play there]?"
