As the race for the Premier League hots up and the relegation scrap becomes more fierce than ever before, it's fair to say a substantial amount of pressure will be placed upon the top strikers in the coming months.
But who will be able to handle the pressure? Moreover, who has demonstrated themselves capable in recent weeks? Who are the best forwards in the league?
GMS contributor Karabo Mdluli offers his opinion on the best strikers in the Premier League.
5 – Wilfred Bony
A rather underrated player, the big Ivorian striker has been a very important for the South Wales side as of late. He is starting to find he’s form and he is managing to score many important goals for Swansea.
Bony will be vital in keeping the Swans up this year.
4 – Robin van Persie
Though the Dutchman has been hampered by injuries he still manages to score goals. This season is nowhere near as good as last season but regardless he is still one of Manchester United’s most important players along with Wayne Rooney.
3 – Sergio Agureo
This season has been Kun Aguero’s best season in terms of his goal conversion rate. Though he has picked up the occasional injury he could be the difference between the Citizens winning or losing the league this season.
2 – Alvaro Negredo
The Spanish forward has been one of, if not the best, striker City have currently and he has been one of their more consistent players throughout this campaign. If he stays fit and manages to still score goals then his partnership with Aguero could prove to be too much for his side's rivals to contend with.
1 – Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan international has been in fantastic form since returning from his 10 match ban, and since then he has been compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Suarez has continued to score in almost every game and since tying down a new deal at the club Liverpool fans might finally see the coveted Premier League title finally come to Anfield.
