Arsenal & Spurs set for French defender battle

Arsenal and Spurs look set to go head-to-head in the battle to sign Sochaux defender Sebastien Corchia this summer.

According to reports in French newspaper Le 10 Sport, the French full-back is available this summer after his proposed move to Lille broke down.

The 23-year-old, a long-term target for both Tottenham and Arsenal, had been set to join Lille in the January transfer window after a fee and personal terms were agreed.

But a hitch with the paperwork has delayed the deal until the summer at the earliest, allowing Arsenal and Spurs a second chance to land their man.

But they're not the only club set to reignite their interest in the former-French youth international.

Russian giants Dynamo Moscow are also keen on the young defender, and with the Russian transfer window open until the end of the February, they have more time to seal a deal than their rivals.

But the report claims Corchia may now hold out for a summer move, with Arsenal and Spurs potentially a more attractive option than Russia for the youngster.
