Arsene Wenger is plotting a bid for German teenager Maximilian Arnold, who has been labelled the next Mesut Ozil, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 19-year-old has come on leaps and bounds for Wolsburg this year and has established himself in the Germany under-21 team as a result.
He is thought to have caught the attention of Arsenal and Serie A giants Juventus who are both considering summer bids.
Arnold currently has a release clause of around £8m inserted into his contract, which expires in the summer of 2015.
With less than 18 months left on his current deal the potential to get him for less than his release clause is growing by the day.
Wenger's interest in the German international comes as no surprise as the Frenchman has been keen to recruit the best of German talent in recent years.
Ozil was signed from Real Madrid in the summer and joined Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker in the first team squad. Youngster Serge Gnabry has also broken through this season.
German youngsters Thomas Eisfeld and Gedion Zelalem also look set to break in to the first team in the near future while Wenger also maintains an interest in Schalke starlet Julian Draxler.
