Real Madrid's comfortable 2-0 victory over local rivals Atletico in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash on Tuesday night saw Carlo Ancelotti's side advance to the final two with an emphatic aggregate score of 5-0.

However, unfortunately, the game at the Vicente Calderon was rather marred by a shocking incident where Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was struck on the head by a lighter hurled from the stands as the players left the field at half-time.

Thankfully Ronaldo was okay, but you would imagine that the 'fan' - should he be sufficiently identified by the relevant authorities - and indeed Atletico themselves could face tough sanctions as a result of such mindless stupidity.

In light - no pun intended - of that aforementioned incident, GMS decided to take a look at the top five worst things to have been hurled from the stands at a football match.

Take a look at our choices and don't forget to leave your thoughts on such thuggery in the comment box provided below.

Which of these do you think is the worst object with the potential to do the most damage? What are your thoughts on fans who insist on behaving in such a way?

Are there any frightening examples that we have missed out? Have your say.
