Fernando Hierro is looking to start his managerial career in Australia and is hoping Raul Gonzalez will play for him in one last hurrah.
Hierro is having his representatives find him a club Down Under, while trying to persuade Champions League all-time top scorer, Raul, to join him as a player, according to The Mirror,
Elite Management Group director Ismail Ozsoy said: "Hierro's people in Spain have authorised me to find him a club in Australia.
"He is very keen to come here. He has all the coaching licenses and a big part of what he wants to bring to Australia is a marquee player."
Raul is currently playing in Qatar, but will be out of contract in October, making him available for the A-League. At the age of 36, he may fancy giving his friend a helping hand in his first job if he feels he can still score goals.
The pair, both formerly Real Madrid captains, played together for nine years at the Bernabeu winning three Champions League titles in each other's company.
Hierro is remembered for his classy defending as well as being a goalscorer. The centre back managed more than 100 league goals as well as 29 for Spain, though someway off Raul's 323 for Madrid and 44 for his country.
