5: Phillip Lahm - Bayern Munich

Whilst some will inevitably dispute Lahm's decision given his tag as being a man who is quietly efficient rather than fiery and loud, it's exactly this trait which sees him take the No.5 spot.

The German international is a paragon of professionalism and rarely puts a foot wrong. Whether it's the Champions League final or a pre-season friendly Lahm can be relied upon to do the business and ensure that everyone around him is doing the same.

His qualities as a captain will no doubt be put to the test when Germany embark on their World Cup campaign in Brazil this summer.
