Wolfsburg could steal Mario Mandzukic away the likes of Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United, as they’ve registered their interest in taking him back from Bayern Munich.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, citing German publication Bild, the Bundesliga outfit are interested in the idea of resigning Mandzukic at the end of this season, despite only having sold him to Bayern for €13million in 2012.
Both United and Arsenal have recently been linked with the 27-year-old, and it’s widely believed that he could leave Pep Guardiola’s side in the summer as he may become redundant following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.
The Croatian forward would more than fit the bill at either Old Trafford or the Emirates and his goal tally of 12 in 19 Bundesliga appearances is likely to impress suitors. However any Premier League sides seeking his signature will face fierce competition from Wolfsburg, who have the advantage of having worked with Mandzukic before.
The player himself has yet to clarify his future beyond the end of this campaign, but he will almost certainly depart if he’s no longer guaranteed first-team football at the Allianz Arena.
