The Milwaukee Bucks currently have the worst record in the NBA but that doesn't mean they'll get the first pick in the 2014 draft.
But the Bucks already have a good idea of who they want to take in the draft, no matter what number pick they end up with.
According to NBA Insider Jeff Goodman, the Bucks GM's and coaches are sold on the talents of Kansas Jayhawks big man Joel Embiid,
"Bucks GM John Hammond will choose the player he thinks has the best chance of being a star. Right now it’s a three-man race, but sources indicate Hammond loves the skill, size and rapid progression of Embiid.
The Cameroon native is new to the game and has tremendous upside. Embiid can help the Bucks on both ends of the court, and while he recently told ESPN.com he might return to school, most feel that he’ll be in June’s draft."
There is a real possibility that Embiid will stay in school and turn down the draft this year as he is still getting used to the intensity of American basketball. The youngster recently had to take a break after complaints of fatigue.
So if he is showing signs of struggling a bit with college ball, then surely it is too soon for him to even consider the rigours of the NBA at this point.
Well, that's something we'll get a definitive answer to come draft time.
