Long-serving Arsenal star Bacary Sagna is in talks with Serie A giants Inter Milan over a proposed summer switch, according to the Metro.
The French right-back, who has with the Gunners for seven years, is out of contract at the end of the season and, despite Arsene Wenger’s best efforts, he has yet to pledge his future to the club.
And it appears Inter are ready to take advantage of this situation, having met with Sagna for transfer talks with the intentions of convincing him to sign a pre-contractual agreement.
Of course Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has already virtually confirmed that he will be heading to the San Siro this summer, but whether or not that will affect Sagna’s decision remains to be seen.
As of the most recent offer, Arsenal are only willing to pay the 31-year-old £60,000-a-week, whereas it’s rumoured that Inter will promise to pay him in excess of £100,000-a-week.
Sagna will hold talks with Wenger this month in another attempt to thrash out his Emirates future, but it may be that money is the overriding factor at the end of the day.
