Hello and welcome to a Valentine’s Day edition of GW News.

Dustin Johnson showed his love for the Riviera Country Club course on Day 1 as he powered his way to an opening round 66 and the outright lead at the Northern Trust Open. The big-hitting American tweeted his delight after he carded 6 birdies and just 1 bogey in a near flawless round. While 3-time winner and the current man in form, Jimmy Walker, is one of 11 players just 1 shot back, as he looks to continue his remarkable start to the season.

Ryder Cup star Nicolas Colsaerts, however, didn’t get off to the best of starts in California, but 3 birdies on the back 9 saw him come in with a round of 72. He’s currently tied 85th, but the Belgian was still good for a behind-the-scenes snap - and posted this photo of a very orderly-looking Riviera locker room.

And finally, The Masters maybe two months away but here’s what Magnolia Lane currently looks like... Captured by local weatherman, Jason Nappi, these pictures show Augusta as you’ve never seen it before. After being hit by snow, the iconic course had to endure freezing rain and gale force winds, leaving the ground staff plenty of work ahead of the first major of the season.
