New York Knicks coach to capitalise on weekend break

New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson is planning to use this weekend to recharge his batteries.

The Knicks have struggled for form under Woodson this season, which has resulted in certain sections of the media calling for the 55-year-old's head.

However Woodson has managed to dodge the axe and is now planning to use the short NBA - due to it being All-Star weekend - break to his advantage.

Speaking to the New York Post, Woodson said: “[I’m] going to sit still for three days and get my mind and body ready for after the break."

The New York Knicks are not in action until next Tuesday when they travel to FedExForum to face the Memphis Grizzlies.

Woodson's side will be hoping to end their poor run of form against the Grizzlies as the Eastern Conference franchise have lost their last two games.

The Knicks will need to start picking up some wins in the next few weeks if they are going to qualify for the playoffs as they are currently two places behind the Charlotte Bobcats in eighth.
