Former NBA star, Tracy McGrady continued his path toward a new career in baseball as he tried out for the Sugarland Skeeters this week.
A Houston radio station released the video that you can see above as the Ex-Orlando Magic player showed off his pitching skills.
He's actually pretty good. The Houston Chronicle described his arm as lively, if not always accurate and that he needs to work on velocity along with control. McGrady pitched wearing basketball shorts but his fastball reached 85mph and despite a fairly awkward delivery, he looks to show some promise.
McGrady, who is now 34 measures at 6'8" and would be among the tallest pitchers in Major League history should he make it all the way to the show.
Tall pitchers can be a huge bonus for teams as their imposing stature can create additional velocity.
In addition to his fastball, McGrady also possesses a splitter, slider and a changeup. We look forward to following McGrady's journey into baseball throughout the season.
