It has been reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has held talks with Robin van Persie's agent over a possible Gunners return for the Dutch striker.
Arsenal need another striker to give competition for Frenchman Olivier Giroud, who has not been able to find his top form in the second half of the season which has even resulted in flop Nicklas Bendtner starting some games in the Premier League.
Who better than Van Persie to give that competition to Giroud? The Netherlands star has not been in his best form under new boss David Moyes and this move could bring just as many benefits to his career as it will to Arsenal.
Managed under Wenger previously in his career, RvP showed scintillating ability, which got him his mega-money move to the red half of Manchester, so it surely makes sense for him to move back if he is not enjoying his time under Moyes.
For Manchester United, this could be more unwanted negatives they have to deal with before the start of next season. It would be very hard to replace a 20-goal-a-season striker, especially if you are not playing in the Champions League, and, if the bookmakers are to believed, Manchester United will not be a part of the greatest club competition in the world for the first time in decades.
