Manchester United boss David Moyes has put first-choice right-back Rafael up for sale, according to the Sunday Times.
The Red Devils manager is planning a major overhaul of his side in the summer and has highlighted Rafael as one of the players that will need replacing in the summer.
Rafael, who had an outstanding campaign for Manchester United last season, has failed to replicate the high level of performances he showed under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Moyes has already shipped out Rafael's twin brother Fabio to Cardiff City and it is now thought the 23-year-old right-back could also be heading for the Old Trafford exit door.
Manchester United could have a completely new back four next season as Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand could all leave the Premier League champions at the end of the season.
Moyes is reportedly keen on bringing Everton full-back Seamus Coleman to Manchester United as Rafael's replacement - but would have to fork out around £20million for the 25-year-old Irishman.
