News surrounding CM Punk’s abrupt departure from the WWE the night after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view sent the WWE fans into a frenzy, some refused to believe it and now it seems to further superstars could soon be following him out of the exit door.

CM Punk has said for a couple of years now that he wasn’t planning on sticking around for much longer. He has achieved most things he set out on doing in the WWE such as becoming World Heavyweight and WWE Champion and wanted to main event WrestleMania at least once in his career.

At one point it looked like he would be doing, especially after his bout against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 proved to be the best match of the night, but things didn’t seem to go to plan and all the frustrations piled up which resulted in Punk leaving Monday Night Raw abruptly, 30 minutes before the show went live.

But CM Punk isn’t the only superstar who has grown frustrated at his place In the WWE; Mexican superstar Alberto Del Rio is also considering his future in the business.

Much like Punk, Del Rio also never planned on staying around for much longer, hinting at retirement on numerous occasions but it looks as if he could be leaving sooner rather than later. Del Rio was one of the top superstars around a year ago when he was World Heavyweight Champion and was on top of Friday Night SmackDown, but he just hasn’t been the same since.

The blame cannot be entirely shifted on him, he can wrestle and the true wrestling fans know he can wrestle which is why he has had such a decorated career in Mexico. He is great on the microphone and can draw heat better than some of the heels in the business can. But it just feels as if the creative have given up on his character which is why he is annoyed that he is practically being ‘fed’ to the returning Dave Batista.

Alberto Del Rio also doesn’t need to do anything else in the WWE, he has captured the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships and has even won the Royal Rumble, plus his glittering career in Mexico speaks for itself.

Along with Alberto Del Rio, there is feeling inside the WWE that when his contract expires Christian will also not be signing a new deal.

He is now forty-years-old and the creative just cannot come up with anything significant for him and see him as a filler. Recent reports even suggested that WWE would look to replace Christian in the Elimination Chamber if they managed to find anyone else.

That alone shows just how much the company values Christian, which is a shame. He has never really been given the push that I personally believes he deserves. A few short-lived runs as World Heavyweight Champion don’t cut it out. He deserves one final push but the creative just won’t do it. He has been one of the WWE’s greatest employees and now that he has recently become a father it could mean he decides to call it a day sooner rather than later. Here’s hoping Christian is handed a Hall of Fame ring in the coming years.
