Newcastle United's Hatem Ben Arfa could be on his way to Inter Milan in the summer, according to the Daily Express.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour with manager Alan Pardew in recent months, with Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko being selected ahead of the French international.
Although no bid was made in January, Inter Milan were said to be interested in signing Ben Arfa and monitoring his situation closely.
The Italian club will try and tempt him to the San Siro in the summer, as they look to reshape an under-achieving squad under new ownership.
With Ben Arfa seemingly not in Pardew's long term plans and with an overhaul of the team expected in the summer, the Frenchman's three and a half year stay at St James Park could be coming to an end.
Ben Arfa's poor form this season has led to Pardew openly criticising the midfielder and has lost patience after a string of inconsistent performances.
Newcastle will be keen to gain as much of the £7m they paid out back, but may struggle to get an offer similar to the £10m the Magpies turned down from Liverpool two years ago.
Monaco are also said to be interested in bringing Ben Arfa back to France, although that interest could come too late to claim a place in the Les Blues squad for this summer's World Cup.
