Manchester United star’s Kosovo talks denied

Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj has not engaged in discussions with Kosovo about representing them at international level, nor has he spoken to the Belgian or English FA, his agent has claimed.

The 19-year-old qualifies to play for Albania, Belgium, Serbia and Kosovo, while he could also represent England through naturalisation in the future. But has yet to pledge his allegiance to any nation.

Given Januzaj’s impressive performances during his maiden campaign in the first-team at Old Trafford it is little wonder interest in his future international career is of such interest, but it would appear we are some way from an outcome.

Kosovo’s Football Federation claim to have been in touch with the Manchester United midfielder and his family hoping to persuade him to feature for the country in their first match against Turkey next month, although this assertion has been dismissed.

Januzaj is also reported to have rejected the advances of Belgium, the place of his birth, in the past and the player’s representative Dirk De Vriese says his client will continue to do so for the time being.

"There are no talks with Kosovo," De Vriese, speaking on behalf the player’s father Abedin Januzaj, told

“There are no talks with Belgium or England. Januzaj is currently only focused on Manchester United."
