The Men's Ice Hockey Sochi Olympics event has now passed the preliminary stages, and there looks to be no clear favorite for gold at this stage, but a recent poll might provide the answer.

In many different disciplines good defense is one of the most important ways to win, and Ice Hockey is no different.

So far in the competition we have had some tight contests with goals flowing aplenty. But the nations that could be set to dominate are the ones that keep the puck out of their own net.

A recent poll suggests Finland might be the dark horses to take the title, with them taking 24.32% of the vote, followed by United States in second on 23.69% and third place is left to Canada on 20.05%.

Now these stats don't necessarily reflect the success of each team, with offenses like Sweden and Russia able to balance out their suspect defenses.

Tomorrow the next stages of the competition begins, and below is an update of the seedings for the next stage.
