He started the season as a great source of hatred and a possible problem in the locker room, but Riley Cooper could be ending it riding out on a fat new contract.

Cooper is set to become a free agent in the summer and if profootballtalk.com are to be believed, then his agent will be hosting a lot of calls from numerous teams interested in his services.

The wide receiver had a career season last year, upping his catches, yards and touchdowns to never before seen levels and at 26 years old he is improving.

The Eagles probably would love to keep him as a foil for DeSean Jackson to work with, but Jackson's $10m a year contract means that it may just not be possible for Philly to match another organization coming in with a big offer.

The Eagles also have another receiver who is about to become a free agent as well. Jeremy Maclin, coming off an ACL injury in pre-season, missed the whole of last season and it's yet to be seen whether the Eagles will release the man and use the money to keep Cooper, let Cooper go and sign Maclin for a smaller amount, or do their utmost to sign the both of them up to new, longer term contracts.

Cooper seems to have been all but forgiven for his episode at that now infamous Kenny Chesney gig in July, and it appears that it won't be damaging to his value in the market.
